Thirty years ago, I was called to serve the poor. Because at that time I saw how poor those homeless people, who lived in slum areas under the bridges, on the sides of railroad tracks, along the rivers, and on piles of rubbish, I was called to help them, because I saw that they were precious in God’s eyes. And if I love God, I must love people who are precious in God’s eyes, namely the poor. And when I started that ministry, starting from a beggar, I never thought that the experience would have an impact nationally and internationally like what we are experiencing today. Therefore, in 1991, we started to establish the Pondok Kasih Foundation as a form of our dedication to God by spreading love to others.
