National Dialogue in Commemoration of the 79th Pancasila Day
In commemoration of the 79th birthday of Pancasila, the Beda tapi Mesra Forum (FBM) and the Pondok Kasih Foundation held a National Dialogue, themed “The Importance of Pancasila in the Sustainability of the Nation’s Life”, at the Artotel Sutos Ballroom, Surabaya. This event was held on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
This dialogue was very insightful for the participants who attended. Not only because of the material presented but the different nuances, because the speakers in this event were the grandchildren and children of the originators of Pancasila. Among them: Puti Guntur Soekarnoputra, S.IP. (granddaughter of Proclamator Ir. Soekarno); Prof. Dr. Meutia Hatta Swasono (daughter of Mohammad Hatta) and Ir. Agustanzil Sjahroezah, M.PA. (grandson of KH. Agus Salim), the dialogue was moderated by Dr. Linda Bustan (Lecturer at UK Petra, Surabaya).
The three speakers emphasized the importance of Pancasila education in shaping the values of the life of the nation and state, all starting from the family. The importance of applying the values of Pancasila in everyday life to maintain the sustainability of the life of the nation and state. By living Pancasila, the community can strengthen unity, prevent disunity, and strengthen the foundation of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
In his speech, the Chairman of FBM, Syuhada Endrayono, S.H., stated that this dialog is a tangible manifestation of FBM’s commitment to involve all elements in contributing to the progress and unity of the Indonesian nation. “The ultimate goal of this activity is to instill Pancasila as the only ideology of the nation in a very diverse society. Thus, it is hoped that the seeds of social conflict that often divide the nation can be prevented and avoided for the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Syuhada. (MH).
