People’s Party “Independence Day” Raises the People’s Economy

In order to Commemorate the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and to help the people’s economy, especially MSMEs, Yayasan Pondok Kasih and Pedalindo (Indonesian Street Vendors Association) initiated to organize the “August Merdeka” Bazaar, this event takes place every Saturday & Sunday, 3-4, 10-11, 17-18, 24-25 August 2024. The MSME players consist of members of the Pondok Kasih Foundation Assisted Community, the Sukolilo District Community and the Pedalindo Community from Surabaya and Sidoarjo. This event is supported by Cleo, VIVA Cosmetics and Sukolilo MSMEs.

We are very grateful for the presence and support of Mr. Agus Imam Sonhaji (Assistant 2 for Economic & Development Affairs of Surabaya City). Sukolilo Police Chief, Mr. Kompol I Made Patera Negara, S.H., M.H. and the entire Police Team. Mrs. Hana Amalia Vandayani (who is often called Mama Hana) as the Founder and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Pondok Kasih Foundation. Mr. Junius Bram Buntaran as the Founder & Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pedalindo. Mrs. Panca Windyawati as DPP PEDALINDO – Chairman II of Business & Empowerment. And Mrs. Linda Moejito (Head of UMKM Kec. Sukolilo).

“Not just an event but inspiration and entertainment in one package” was the expression of several visitors to this People’s Party. Why not, this event was enlivened with various activities and competitions, such as: healthy gymnastics, various children’s competitions at PAUD / TK and SD levels, mother (without a mirror) and child makeup competitions, free health checks, cheap groceries and live music entertainment with the singer. In addition, Karate and Dance performances from Pondok Kasih Children’s Home made this People’s Party even more lively.

Especially on the 17th the committee held a Flag Raising Ceremony in commemoration of the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. All this is done because Pondok Kasih really cares about the community. We all hope that through this Bazaar the economy will run well and all components of the participating community will benefit.
